What is F1 in schools?
F1 in schools is a global competition in which schools in every Continent, form teams, with a maximum of 6 members to design a car fit for the Formula 1 race track. In a normal year, the teams would have to go through several stages to get to the World Final.
A team has to enter a five page, outlining their ideas for their car, and overall team design. if they get through that, they enter into the regional finals, racing against schools in the region. then the national final, racing against schools around the country. The four teams to come out at top represent Ireland in the World Finals.
Of course, due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, there was no in person races, and the team has automatically gone to the national final after sending in the five page plan in November.
Thanks to our fantastic sponsors for their continued support:
