Leaving Cert Grad- The Class of 2024

The class of 2024 bade farewell to MCS, having the honour of being the 50th class to graduate, a fitting honour for the group who have been exemplary throughout their time with us. They coped with online schooling and the limitations on their experience with enthusiasm. They developed resilience and this came through with the remarkable runs in sports, getting to the quarter final in soccer, while winning a county hurling title and a Munster football crown. Sport was only one facet of their talent, as all exceeded in many other aspects of school, including TY projects, organising events and, of course, their studies. We wish the class of 2024 the very best in the exams and the future.

Canon Fitzgerald encouraged the group to continue to look out for each other, especially as they face the challenges of the next phase of their lives. Mr O’Síodhcháin said he enjoyed the special relationship he had with the class, as they all started in MCS on the same day. He urged them to ignore obstacles in their pursuit of their dreams. Mr Magee added that he admired the character and generosity of the group, reflecting the strong values they possess which will stand to them as they set out on the next step of their journey.

Two attendance certs were handed out by Ms O’Donoghue, one to Edward Ring for full attendance in ‘23-24, and one to Liam Healy, who completed his entire secondary schooling in MCS without missing one day, a remarkable achievement reflecting Liam’s dedication and commitment.

The class of 2024 are a credit to themselves, the school, the community and their families.
