TY Graduation in MCS
Wow! was all you could say- as the annual showcase of the MCS TY year took place today. The displays alone of the huge range of projects, activities and achievements in the room was testament to the commitment and dedication to take every opportunity to challenge themselves, develop and build new skills that embodies the TY philosophy.
Principal Pól O’Síodhcháin began the ceremony, and listed the various activities the year had been involved in, congratulating them on their energy, initiative and success. Mr Guerin thanked the group for embracing every opportunity and making it a great year, both as individuals and as a year group.
Special guest and past pupil, Dr Karen Dennehy, gave a presentation on her journey, including voluntary work in the developing world as well as stints in hospitals all over Ireland and the world. She shared her own career path, showing how hard work and dedication can achieve sucess and fulfillment. She also shared many career options she has encountered as part of her journey, offering career insights for the TY group who will be making decisions soon about after-school choices. Afterwards, Anna Murphy presented Karen with a wonderful hamper donated by Capabu Foods.
Reflections were read and certs presented, followed by a slide show on the achievements of the year. Gaisce, restoration of the school play, the Paris trip, BT, Angus and many more highlights reminded us what a great year it’s been. Congratulations to all.
