Young SVP Conference

TY students attended the SVP End of Year Celebration today in Silversprings Hotel, Cork. It showcased the project work undertaken by members of the MCS TY Young SVP Conference. The students took their place along with representatives of twelve other schools in the region. Initiatives during the year included: a quiz with 5th and 6th class pupils, a Games Morning with older adults in the community, a presentation to 1st years students about the work of the SVP, a collection of food products in the run up to Christmas and a fundraising event in conjunction with the 5th year LCVP class.

The support of SVP Youth Development Officer for Cork and Kerry, Alita Kelly, was invaluable. She met with our TY classes a total of ten times through the year. She ran workshops with them around the work of SVP which in turn inspired the students into action. Well done to everyone involved.
