Celebration Breakfast in MCS
The victorious MCS Munster champions were treated to a celebratory breakfast, welcoming parents and friends to the school to join the team. This was preceded by a parade through the school, with all classes out to applaud the lads. Shiela O’Leary, assisted by the second and TY students, served up the full Irish, prepared at dawn in the canteen and a fantastic treat for the team and guests.
Mr O’Síodhcháin welcomed the team and visitors and complimented the team on their never-say-die spirit and willingness to battle on, despite the game and the elements turning against them. The resilience to come through so strongly in extra time really says it all about this group. Ms Moynihan added that she was impressed by the team’s ability to hold their shape and self belief in adverse circumstances.
Coaches Mr O’Neill and Mr O’Callaghan spoke highly of the team and individual effort, as well as the willingness of the team to adapt to the different challenges over the competition.
Team captain Hugh Linehan thanked the whole squad who all contributed to the success, in training and games, especially in the final as it was a full squad performance.
Well done to the lads, and as Mr O’Neill said, a group with all these qualities will be well able for the exams!
