UCC Human Rights Conference

A group of our TYs and 5th years were amongst the two hundred who attended the second annual Human Rights Conference in UCC on Tues. 12th Dec.  It was organised by Cork Educate Together Secondary School (CETSS) and UCC School of Applied Social Studies. Topics explored in the workshops included: sportswashing – what does it mean for human rights, Solidarity with refugees and asylum seekers, podcasting as a tool for activism, social media algorithms – creativity and change.

Our students attended this conference as part of our school's ongoing efforts to embed global citizenship education (GCE) in school life.  We are grateful to WorldWise Global Schools (WWGS) for their on-going support of our efforts.
