Mathematical Olympiad

All Junior and TY groups of Millstreet Community School participated in The Irish Mathematical Olympiad (IrMO). It is a national Mathematics contest for secondary school students. They had to show their maths skills and solved challenging, outside-the-box problems. The top scorers got an invitation to attend the Mathematics Enrichment classes in UCC. At these weekend classes, the students get in contact with exciting aspects of Mathematics, and they meet like-minded students from other schools, in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, guided by professional mathematicians. The Mathematics Enrichment classes help to identify and train talented students, with a view to selecting a team to represent Ireland in the next IMO in Bath (UK) in July 2024.
