Sustainability at the Hollies

The Hollies – Centre for Sustainability ; TY GCE class visit – 6th May 

The Hollies is a centre for learning in practical aspects of Sustainable Living Skills at Castletown Kinneagh, Enniskeane, West Cork. For over twenty years it has been creating and developing several examples of this and the students were given the chance to learn about cob and timber frame buildings, food gardens, dry sanitation systems, alternative land management, sustainable woodland use and the promotion of biodiversity.  During their visit Arran Towers and Thomas Riedmuller provided the TY GCE class were given an insight into alternative, practical ways of living sustainably and as a consequence minimising the impact on the environment. Thanks to WWGS for supporting this event.
