Green Flag Day of Action

The Green Flag Committee were busy working virtually to continue preparations to apply for the school's first Green Flag for Litter and Waste. We had a meeting with Tricia Beecher, our local Green Schools Officer with An Taisce and she offered very useful feedback on our progress to date and answered questions from the committee members. We will meet with Tricia again in May for our virtual assessment.

We worked with the Creative Engagement Group to put together entries for the Story of our Stuff Competition, a competition based on creating presentations and videos outlining the origins, processes and waste involved in every day items. Some of the items chosen were toothpaste, orange juice and toilet paper.

We also prepared plans for the upcoming Day of Action - there will be two challenges open to all students. A photography competition to showcase the beauty of the local environment and Reliable or Rubish - a true or false quiz to test your knowledge on Litter and Waste facts.
