TY Community Integration Initiative on ZOOM

All TYs took part in Diversity Awareness Workshops. These were run by IRD Duhallow with Dr Alvina Grosu from UCC leading the interactive zoom workshop. TYs from Rathmore and both schools in Kanturk also joined these workshops. A delegation from each school then took part in a plenary session.Killian Reardon, Veda Murphy, Lilian Eberechi and Edward Ring spoke on behalf of our TYs.

All schools were welcomed by Nollaig Murphy, Development Officer IRD Duhallow. Representatives from each school group introduced their school and briefly describe what attributes make their school diverse. Students spoke on the topic: How can Transition Year students in Duhallow contribute to making the locality a more socially inclusive place to live? This prompted some interesting discussions on inclusion and how we are all challenged to play our part.
