SVP Bake Sale

The school’s TY 2 group have put their theory into practice with a cake sale in aid of St Vincent de Paul. This took place at breaks on January 17th. Students brought in goodies they had baked at home and all proceeds go to the vital work SVP do for the homeless and to help run hostels.

This is part of the social justice education SVP promote in schools and is linked to the school’s Global Citizenship Education, a core part of education in MCS. Thanks to all the first years who also helped, baking in home ec. class.

The TY’as efforts raised over €300, and more importantly, kept the question of why there is homelessness at all in everyone’s minds.
