The class of 2019 formally graduated from MCS at a wonderful ceremony on May 21st. Parents, family, friends and staff gathered to celebrate the culmination of 6 years marked by many achievements along the way. Music and song with Ms O’Hanlon’s group added a special feel of joyful celebration to this milestone event, as did the leaving cert.’s meticulous preparation for the event. Their rich and varied school experience was highlighted by their slideshow, recalling the huge number of events they were involved in, from sport to projects to school trips and voluntary work. They are a group who immersed themselves in all opportunities to learn, grow and develop.

Principal Mr Ó Síodhcháin encouraged them to recognize this in themselves as they faced future challenges, and to continue to be confident and ambitious. The school was honoured to also welcome Bishop Ray Browne, who encouraged students to remember the message from the gospel of care for self and for others, and to show kindness and concern, a sentiment echoed by Canon Fitzgerald, who advised students to continue to be supportive of one another, to remember the bonds of friendship and support each other in the new challenges the future will bring.
