Eco-Unesco Finalists
Both of our teams have qualified for the Final of the Eco-Unesco Young Environmentalist Awards, which will take place on May 23rd in Dublin. Two projects on environmental sustainability were researched and presented. Ms. O'Donoghue & Mr. Lyons and students looked at more sustainable farming with herbal lea grazing systems involving a high diversity of plants and less artificial fertiliser. An Investigation of River Pollution in the North Cork Area was the second project studied, and the research and presentations impressed the judges in UCC so all now head to Dublin to present their findings in the national final.
