L.C.'s on Retreat
The annual Leaving cert. Retreat, a pilgrimage to the ancient Inisfallen island on Lough Leane, took place on October 7th. All departed at 9 for Killarney, boarding the boats at Ross Castle for the voyage up the lakes to the Black Valley.
The group visited Inisfallen and held a brief prayer ceremony as part of the day’s focus on stepping back from the busy demands of L.C. Readings reflected on the both the challenges ahead and gratitude for all who support us on our journey. And the journey continued through the three lakes, amid the mountains and forests, to Lord Brandon’s Cottage in the Black Valley.
After a substantial lunch, all hiked to Derrycunnihy through the ancient sessile oak forest. All then joined Canon Fitzgerald in the Cathedral for Mass in the Kenmare Chantry Chapel.
All returned to Millstreet, recharged for the challenges ahead.
